Former Airman connects school children with deployed Heroes
U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Cassie Starr, 379th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron, video-chats with a fifth grade student during the “Holler at a Hero” project Nov. 13, 2014, at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. The “Holler at a Hero” project was held in recognition of Veteran’s Day by a Security Forces veteran named James Wilson, who is now a teacher in New Jersey. The project allowed Wilson’s fifth grade class to have face-to-face interaction, via online video-messaging, with deployed servicemembers to discuss their job duties, day-to-day activities and any personal challenges military members face while deployed.
