U.S. servicemembers celebrate Qatar National Day
The Qatari military invited U.S. servicemembers deployed to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, to celebrate Qatar National Day, over breakfast, on December 18, 2014. The annual holiday is an occasion for Qataris to commemorate their national identity and history, and allows them to remember how their national unity was achieved. This year’s Qatar National Day celebration included a parade involving all branches of the Qatari military, police, and schools. The parade featured massive fire work displays, military aircraft flyovers, and many other demonstrations of national unity. Qatar is a key and enduring regional partner of the United States.
