HH-60 Pave Hawk pilots from the 83rd Expeditionary Rescue Squadron prepare for takeoff at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, Oct. 22, 2017. The 83rd ERQS conducted a joint flight with U.S. Army CH-47 Chinooks in preparation for the CH-47 taking over for the HH-60. The 83rd ERQS, which has been strictly U.S. Air Force personnel, will be a joint unit containing Air Force pararescuemen and combat rescue officers and U.S. Army helicopters and pilots.
