KABUL AIR WING, Afghanistan (August 26, 2018) -- Afghan Air Force Brig. Gen. Mohammad Shoaib, Afghan Air Force commander, speaks during the 97th Afghan Air Force anniversary ceremony August 26, 2018, Kabul Air Wing, Afghanistan. The Afghan Air Force has come a long way in 97 years. This year alone they conducted combat air drops to support troops fighting the Taliban, they introduced the UH-60 Blackhawk into the fleet and the newly graduated pilots included two women.
