379th ELRS top performer is crew chief for a day
Airman 1st Class Trever Van Oss, with the 379th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron, services the oil of a KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft during his crew chief for a day event on Nov. 17, 2020, at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. Van Oss worked alongside maintainers for a day, learning how to launch a KC-135, calling flight controls and engine start, as well as how to recover it, marshaling it to a parking spot and servicing the engine oil after shut down. The crew chief for a day program provides interested Airmen of any military specialty, direct exposure to the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing's robust aerial refueling capability.
