Al Udeid AB coalition forces complete 18.6-mile Norwegian foot march
New Zealand army Lance Cpl. Micah Sears walks past Norwegian armed forces Capt. Magne Rambo at the progress checkpoint during the traditional 30-kilometer (18.6-mile) Norwegian foot march event held at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, Dec. 5, 2020. The tradition began in 1915, 10 years after Norway gained its independence from Sweden and has become a rite of passage for all Norwegian military members. Sears joined nearly 120 other coalition members, including Americans, Australians, British and Canadians who participated in the march under the supervision of Rambo, deployed to Al Udeid AB as part of the U.S. Central Command Partner Integration Enterprise.
