Civil Engineers ensure gateway stays open with RADR exercise

Airmen form the 386th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron use a Caterpillar TH360B wheel saws to cut a damaged piece of a replicated runway while another shovel away debris during a rapid airfield damage recovery exercise at Ali Al Salem, Kuwait, Sept. 15, 2021. As the theater gateway of the U.S. Central Command’s area of responsibility, maintaining a functional runway is key to delivering decisive combat power and support throughout the theater.
