Airman 1st Class Laura Smith and Senior Airman Matthew Wilson, push large support pins into a M61A1 20mm Gatling-type gun maintenance stand as Staff Sgt. Calvin Adger and Tech. Sgt. Christopher Knackstedt hold the more than 80 pound main gun housing of the cannon Aug. 6, 2010, Joint Base Balad, Iraq. The M61A1 is a six-barreled automatic rotary weapon that can fire at a rate of 6,000 rounds per minute. Airmen Smith, Wilson and Sergeant Knackstedt are deployed from Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., Sergeant Adger is deployed from the McEntrye Air National Guard Station, S.C.
