Local civic leaders and leadership from the Transit Center at Manas, joined together Dec. 6, at the Leninskoe Village Kindergarten, in Leninskoe, Kyrgyzstan, for a dedication ceremony of the newly finished school roof.

The $45,000 project was fully renovated in less than a month and was the final touch in the complete overhaul of the school.

After one year and help from the local area, the reconstruction and renovation was finally complete and allowed better insulation and a roof that according to Tech. Sgt. Josh Worch, 376th Air Expeditionary Wing Theater Security Cooperation, NCO in charge of humanitarian assistance, "we'll keep the elements out during bad weather and protect the building for years."

The school principal hosted the ceremony, which included a trip through all of the renovated areas of the school, showing the happy faces of children who were anywhere from four to six years old.

"Education is very important (to us)," said Col. John Vaughn, 376th AEW vice commander, deployed from Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii, and a Granville, Ohio, native. "It's necessary to keep children safe while they learn; I hope these renovations continue to keep your children safe and add to their education for years to come."
