Senior Airman Brandon Traywick, 407th Expeditionary Communications Squadron radio frequency transmission journeyman, explains to Col. John Gonzales, 407th Air Expeditionary Group commander how to properly assemble a communications fly-away kit at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia, April 16, 2018. In the event of a system failure or shut down, the CFK can be deployed operationally in less than 30 minutes, allowing quick communication support if needed. The 407th ECS provided leadership with a hands-on look into the squadron's daily operations enhancing their understanding of the unit's mission capabilities. RQ-4 Global Hawk reaches historical milestone: 20k flight hours
The 99th Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron celebrates being the first RQ-4 Global Hawk to log 20,000 flight hours Feb. 13, 2018 at Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates. The Global Hawk is operated by the 12th Reconnaissance Squadron at Beale Air Force Base, California, and the 348th Reconnaissance Squadron at Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota, but aircraft are rotated to operational detachments worldwide.
