Students recite their national anthem during a "first bell" celebration at Tort-kul school in Kyrgyzstan, Sept. 3, 2013. The ceremony marked the beginning of the first school year after renovations were made by the 376th Air Expeditionary Wing Theater Security Cooperation, humanitarian assistance branch at the Transit Center at Manas, Kyrgyzstan, including replacing all the windows and upgrading the heating system to better prepare the building for winter. Lt.Col. Alan Beaty, 376th Air Expeditionary Wing Theater Security Cooperation director, speaks during the "first bell" celebration at Tort-kul school in Krygystan, Sept. 3, 2013. TSC recently finished a construction project upgrading the windows, replacing the heating system and remodeling the gym in the school. "We were honored to be a part of this ceremony, it's a fantastic thing," Beaty said. "We've worked all summer long with the school administration to make this a better place. The partnership between our government, the Kyrgyz government and Ministry of Education worked hard to be able to provide this for the students better accomodations for their education."
