HC-130P Combat King back in Afghanistan
Senior Airman Brian Kehn, a pararescueman assigned to the 79th Expeditionary Rescue Squadron, flies aboard an HC-130P “Combat King” aircraft during an alert mission, April 10, 2010, in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. “Guardian Angel” pararescuemen, deployed from the 48th ERQS at Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz., returned to Afghanistan after their last deployment, which ended in January 2010. An HC-130P “Combat King” Hercules aircrew assigned to the 79th Expeditionary Rescue Squadron, board an aircraft to prepare it for take-off on an alert mission, April 9, 2010, from Camp Bastion, Afghanistan. The unit's combat search and rescue and casualty evacuation skills were put on display before the aircrew even went into alert status. Senior Airman Michael Schoettlin, an HC-130P “Combat King” Hercules loadmaster, deployed to the 79th Expeditionary Rescue Squadron, brushes his teeth as the remainder of the HC-130 crew load a van to taking them to their aircraft for an alert mission, April 9, 2010, Camp Bastion, Afghanistan. The squadron, which stood up March 29, and went on alert status April 8, consists of 86 Airmen.
