New fitness tent scheduled to open in August
Airmen with the 386th Expeditionary Force Support Squadron set up the new temporary fitness tent on Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait, July 24, 2019. The new fitness tent is slated to open Aug.1, 2019, replacing the original facility which is scheduled for demolition to make room for future base improvement projects. Coalition commemorates ANZAC Day 2019
Colonel Selahattin Soylen, Turkey’s Senior National Representative to the Combined Air Operations Center, Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, lays a wreath of remembrance during an ANZAC Day dawn service April 25, 2019. Wreaths were also laid by representatives of Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Turkey’s participation in an ANZAC Day ceremony is a symbol of the partnership that has been built between Turkey, Australia and New Zealand since the Battle of Gallipoli, when the Anzacs and Ottomans were on opposing sides of the campaign. ANZAC Day is a national day of remembrance for both Australia and New Zealand, and is celebrated annually on April 25 as it marks the anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli by Australia and New Zealand forces during World War I.
