    EM, Fire Dawgs stay ready through HAZMAT Exercise

    The American Chopper of Aircraft Maintenance

    With the eight-13 hour flights the aircraft of the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing have on a daily basis, some parts of the aircraft can wear down, crack or break over periods of time. The 380th Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron fabrication flight, also known as “Fab Flight” or the “American Chopper” of aircraft maintenance at Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates, is in charge of identifying and repairing aircraft structural damage. They fix whatever can be broken, from a metal panel off the side of a KC-10 Extender to a tiny cracked screw the size of a fingernail.

    Air Force dental tech gains 'once in a lifetime experience'

    On December 8, 2018, members of the 386th Expeditionary Wing dental team were given a unique opportunity to join forces with the U.S. Army veterinary clinic to provide support to the K-9 unit at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. In most instances in a deployed environment the medical group supports the vet by providing medications and food related support, but on this day it was to perform a teeth cleaning on Military Working Dog Vviking.

    EOD 134 Memorial Workout

    U.S. Airmen assigned to the 380th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordnance Disposal flight hosted the EOD 134 Memorial Workout, Nov. 30, 2018. 380th Air Expeditionary Wing Airmen, along with coalition partners, participated in the annual workout to honor the 134 EOD technicians from the U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps that have been killed since Sept. 11, 2001.

    ADAB Stays Vigilant through Readiness Exercise

    Extensive training, to include Self Aid/Buddy Care; Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape; and weapons qualification that each and every Airman has previously completed is put to use in case of a strike from adversaries.

    AAF graduates 22 fixed-wing pilots including two females

    Twenty-two students graduated from Initial Entry Fixed-Wing (IEFW) school, including two women pilots, at a ceremony in Pardubice, Czech Republic, June 27. During the ceremony, the graduates were congratulated by the guest speakers for their tremendous accomplishments throughout the 15-month course. "You have much to celebrate, much to be proud of,” said U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Joel Carey, Train, Advise, and Assist Command-Air commander. "You are entering an Air Force at an exciting time in its history where you will be a key contributor to the future security for the people of Afghanistan. Congratulations to all of you.”
