  • Leaving the AOR on their own terms

    Eight wounded warriors, who have visible and invisible injuries from combat, were on a mission to find closure by returning to the place of their traumatic incident through Operation Proper Exit.
  • Upgrading the fuel structure in the AOR with experience and a strong work ethic

    The 386th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron’s fuels management flight is responsible for supplying approximately 150,000 gallons of fuel a day supporting Operation Inherent Resolve. The POL team works tirelessly to improve fuel efficiency, saving the Defense Logistics Agency and U.S. Air Force time and money. Maintenance upgrades to the fuel distribution structure is currently underway with a plan to redesign the system for effective expeditionary results.

    On September 26, 2005, six women assigned to the 737th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron under the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing, made history and became the first all-female C-130 Hercules crew to fly in combat. More than a decade later, a few members of the group reflected on their experience
  • 386 AEW development project expected to deliver morale boost in AOR

    A construction project is currently underway to prepare 33 new relocatable buildings, or trailer structures, for Airmen to reside in during their deployment.
  • Public health performs ‘farm to fork’ inspections in AOR

    Maj. Jessica McGlade, 386th EMDG public health chief, and her team work diligently to ensure all food and food facilities at their location are safe. They also check to see if food handlers are knowledgeable about the food they are handling. Assessing the risks associated with productions, transportation, storage, preparation, and serving of food is a daily occurrence for them.
  • 387th AEG develops Cargo City to maintain operations

    Construction is currently underway to provide a work environment for U.S. coalition forces to continue aerial port operations in Kuwait City. The aerial port is a strategic logistics point to deliver passengers and cargo throughout the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility and its future was recently put in jeopardy due to a construction project timeline issue.
  • 386th World War II Airman Remains Recovered

    Army Air Forces Staff Sgt. John H. Canty was one of eight crewmembers aboard a B-26 Maurader on a nighttime bombing mission from Easton Lodge-Essex, England, against targets near Caen, France. His B-26 was shot down between the villages of Baron-sur-Odon and Gavrus, France on June 22, 1944.
