    379th EFSS serves Afghanistan evacuees

    The 379th Expeditionary Force Support Squadron is generally best known for providing services that help maintain the morale and welfare of deployed service members at Al Udeid Air Base, including running facilities such as the base’s five dining facilities, lodging, several gyms, community centers, and postal office, as well as by hosting various events like karaoke, bingo, and live musical performances.
  • The HNCC operates as the link between Department of Defense personnel and the base’s Qatari Emiri Air Force counterparts. During the evacuation of Afghanistan, the HNCC oversaw Qatari immigration processes, which was the final step in moving qualified evacuees to their next destination.

    Forging futures: AUAB and Qatar relocate Afghanistan evacuees

    The 379th Air Expeditionary Wing Host Nation Coordination Cell at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, is the link between Department of Defense personnel and Qatari officials. During the evacuation of Afghanistan, HNCC and their Qatari counterparts were in charge of the final step in moving qualified evacuees onward to further destinations. The support from Qatar was critical to the U.S. military’s efforts in evacuating Afghanistan.

    AUAB supports largest NEO airlift in history

    On Aug. 14, the first C-17 Globemaster III full of evacuees took off from Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul and arrived at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. The base quickly became the primary transit hub for evacuees flowing out of Afghanistan.

  • "It's been a lot of hard work helping these people, but it's been rewarding all at the same time and makes me grateful for the life I have back home. Being able to put fuel on the planes that are transporting these people from a bad situation is nothing I expected when I came here for this deployment. We are making history here and all of us are working so hard to give these people better lives.     AUAB supports Afghanistan evacuation efforts

    Since Aug. 14, the Department of Defense has been supporting the evacuation of qualified evacuees from Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. The Afghanistan evacuation operation is one of the largest airlifts in history, evacuating roughly 58,700 people within the first ten days under volatile circumstances.
