Afghanistan Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation project ribbon cutting
Elizabeth Smithwick, U.S. Agency for International Development lead field officer at Panjshir Provincial Reconstruction Team and acting Panjshir PRT director, along with the Afghanistan Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation project?s technical advisor, the SWSS program chief of party, and the Panjshir deputy governor, cut a ribbon symbolizing the first Panjshir Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation project in the Anaba District. The SWSS project seeks to increase access to potable water and sanitation services in poor communities, decrease the incidence of water-related diseases through household hygiene interventions, and improve the sustainable management of potable water quality and quantity in project-assisted communities.
