Pararescuemen hone skills in Bagram’s excess structure
U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Ryan Darnell, 83rd Expeditionary Rescue Squadron pararescue team leader, monitors mock patient, Airman 1st Class Benjamin Martin, during a mission rehearsal in an excess structure here Aug. 26, 2014. The event allowed PJs to hone their breaching, clearing, patient care and egress skills. Air Force rescue forces conduct combat search and rescue and personnel recovery operations. Darnell, of Romulus, Mich., is an Air National Guardsmen deployed from the 123rd Special Tactics Squadron, Louisville, Ky., and Martin, from Colorado Springs, Colo., is deployed from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz. The 83rd ERQS partnered with Joint Task Force Trailblazer, U.S. Army 2nd Engineer Brigade, to use the structure prior to its scheduled deconstruction.
