Sports Day Challenge
A Kyrgyz Republic soldier drags a 170 pound training mannequin while George Parker keeps time and Alvin Washington ensures a safe walkway during a fireman's carry challenge during sports day Dec. 16, 2011, at the Transit Center at Manas, Kyrgyzstan. Parker is the Transit Center fire chief and Washington is the deputy fire chief. The three man teams for the fireman's carry challenge were timed on their ability to conduct a mannequin drag, a fire-hose haul and to change a smoke detector battery. Kyrgyz Republic President Roza Otunbayeva views a wreath honoring those who died in the terrorist attacks of 9/11, during the Remembrance Ceremony at the Transit Center at Manas, Kyrgyzstan, Sept. 11.
