AUAB medics adapt to support Afghanistan evacuation
Members of the 379th Expeditionary Medical Group take a picture while supporting Afghanistan evacuation operations at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. The 379th EMDG, which was originally postured as a small expeditionary medical clinic, has had to adapt in order to support the thousands of qualified evacuees who evacuated Afghanistan to Al Udeid AB since Aug. 14, 2021. The members of the 379th EMDG have successfully treated evacuees who were in labor, who were in a state of diabetic ketoacidosis, who had open wounds, and other medical emergencies.
